Hi Guys!

So as I mentioned in one of my previous posts I visited Seattle recently!! It was really fun to explore the city (and I will be writing a post about this later) but the main reason I went all the way to Seattle was to visit a friend.

Being an expat means that friends come and go, and in the end you are left with friends all over the world. One of my best friends moved to Seattle about six months ago, and since the trip was convenient for us I decided to go visit her.

I’ll be honest, a part of me was nervous about what it would be like to see someone after six months, but the other part of me was screaming with excitement to finally see my best friend. I think that anyone seeing an old friend will experience this, it can be weird to see them at first, but in the end it will be a total blast.

Anyways, back to the post. I had an AMAZING time with my friend out in Seattle and I thought I would share with you a few of the things we did:

On our first and last nights we sat outside in her garden and had a barbecue, which was delicious. And later we sat round a bonfire listening to music and attempting to make s’mores. It was magical, and I didn’t want my trip to end.

Another one of the things that I was set on doing when I found out that my friend lived in rural Washington was to go on a picnic! This is something that I don’t really get to do in Dubai because it is usually way too hot. So my friend and I walked down to the park, put down a blanket and spent some time together. I’m all for outdoorsy things, and I think that a picnic is a great way to catch up with a friend, while doing something fun.

One thing that I really wanted to do while I was in Washington was to go on a hike, because the mountains and lakes there are really beautiful. Sadly I didn’t get to do this, but my sisters went on a hike and it looked amazing. I would recommend this for anyone going to Washington.

I hope my story helped anyone going to Washington, or anyone going to visit an old friend. So if you have a friend thats moved away, don’t be a stranger go see them! because trust me, it will be amazing.

Have you ever been to Seattle?
